Spencer Lee on a bluebird powder day at Sugarloaf, March 15th #SkiME

There's no doubt about it, this winter has been a wild one here in Maine. Cold spells, massive Nor'Easters, and false teases of spring-like weather have dragged Mainers on a roller coaster ride over the past few months.

February started out with a record setting streak of snow storm after snow storm, which dropped over five feet of snow on parts of the state in a 10-day period. This "snowmageddon" was followed by a mild stretch, where temperatures climbed into the 50's and 60's, quickly melting all the snow that had fallen in most of Southern Maine. For the snow-haters, things sure were looking up until this past week, when yet another blizzard blasted New England with howling winds, cold temps, and you guessed it - more snow.

You thought winter was over in March? Haha! Think again! -Mother Nature, probably
Thankfully, most of us Mainers tend to embrace the winter weather we experience this time of year (yes, it does still snow in March!). Those that love to SkiME and RideME, for example, have rejoiced over the abundant snowfall, which at Sugarloaf currently sits at 203 inches on the season and counting.

If you're looking for an excuse to get up to ski or ride before the snow melts, you should check out these great events going on around the mountains of Maine.
